Team Biographies 

Jim Wyvell – Senior Director

  • Jim is a finance and decision support expert in modeling, financing, and construction analysis/facilitation knowledge, with over 20 years of experience in the food industry.  In his 10+ years with Land O’Lakes, he’s held positions in finance leadership for both corporate and Purina and now currently leads the Strategic Asset Management team. During Jim’s career, he’s performed 200+ business valuations including the acquisition of a $4 billion revenue business in his prior role with SuperValu and facilitated several mergers as a member of the SAM team.

Richard Bentley – Strategic Director

  • Richard is an expert in construction, grain, and cooperative operations/management.  He has over 40 years of experience within the agricultural system, most recently as the COO of Wheat Growers in Aberdeen, SD, where he was responsible for the direction, profitability and growth of the largest local ag cooperative in the U.S. During Richard’s career, he’s overseen the construction of 100+ grain, agronomy and feed facilities and negotiated 15+ M&A deals in various management roles and in a consulting capacity as a member of the SAM team. 

Cory Fosher – Senior Construction Manager

  • Cory is our fertilizer and agronomy inputs construction expert with extensive experience in residential, commercial, and agriculture construction oversight.  In his most recent role with North Central Farmer Elevator in Ipswich, SD, Cory oversaw the construction activities for the company as the corporate construction project manager. During his career, Cory has been involved in over $100 million in grain, fuel and agronomy construction projects.

Lynn Foth – M&A Director

  • Lynn brings over 40 years of experience including general management in the local cooperative system and consulting with local cooperatives as a member of Farmland, Land O’Lakes and CHS. Most recently, Lynn led the Aligned Solutions division where he was responsible for CHS’ consulting and engagement efforts with local cooperatives.  During Lynn’s career, he facilitated 50+ mergers and partnerships with co-ops ranging from $50m-700m in sales. 

Lisa Hertel – Communications Director 

  • Lisa leads the team’s strategic communications efforts. She has been with Land O’Lakes for more than 10 years, serving as director of strategic communications in Public Affairs before moving to Business Development Services. Prior to joining Land O’Lakes, Lisa managed government relations and communications at Thomson Reuters, worked as a policy analyst on Capitol Hill, and ran a few political campaigns. 

Dennis Inman – Grain Director

  • Dennis comes to our team with 40 years of experience at Cargill where he most recently served as vice president and regional manager in the AgHorizons business unit. During his career at Cargill, his roles included location management, regional management and marketing solutions development where he played a critical role in the development and implementation of the ProPricing program. In total, he oversaw the business case assessment and build-out of over 50 grain and agronomy facilities with a combined spend of over $250 million. 

Steve Miller – Agronomy Director

  • Steve’s background at Land O’Lakes has been in business development for WinField and most recently as director in corporate strategy. Previously, he worked at Agriliance and Cenex/Land O’Lakes Agronomy Company in various capacities including management, operations, and business development. During his time with Agriliance, Steve negotiated 100+ acquisitions and sales of retail agronomy businesses, which included over 400 facilities. 

Rob Yarborough – Senior Manager Feed & Construction

  • Rob is our resident feed expert with post-baccalaureate studies in animal nutrition from the North Carolina State University. Rob has extensive construction oversight experience as well as grain, agronomy, and feed mill operations management having held roles at Cargill and J.D. Heiskell among others during his 20+ year career. In his most recent role with J.D. Heiskell, Rob oversaw the construction activities for the company as the corporate project manager. During his career, Rob has been involved in more than 80 grain, feed, fuel and agronomy construction projects.
