Business Case Assessment
Certain key questions need to be answered before deciding to build a new asset:
- Will the marketplace support a new asset?
- What are the key risks and alternatives?
- What asset should I build and at what cost?
- What are the project returns and is the project affordable?
The SAM team will help you answer these questions through a combination of marketplace assessment, preliminary design budget, timeline creation and financial evaluation.

Site Selection and Diligence
Selecting the best site for your greenfield location is a complex task incorporating many factors including land availability and cost, proximity to rail lines, road access, proximity to customers and competitor locations, utility availability and growth opportunities among others. We will help you rank potential greenfield locations during the site selection process and track progress on key diligence activities to make sure your project stays on time and on budget.

Contractor Facilitation
Establishing a competitive bidding process is an important step so you identify the right contractors to work on your project at a competitive price. In a large scale project, you need to identify the right contractors for the building structure, equipment, automation, millwright services, electrical work and plumbing. The selection process in itself can be extremely complex and taxing to your teams. The SAM team will help you conduct a request for proposal (RFP) process and evaluate each bid submission based on your requirements for the project and cost in each party’s bid.

Construction Oversight
Projects must be carefully managed to ensure you stay on time and on budget. Our team will partner with you in this effort through regular contractor update meetings, on-site inspection of work performed and verification that work has been performed to your standards before invoices are paid to keep your project on track. When construction is complete, a final inspection will be completed to ensure all your punch list items have been completed to your expectations.
